Freelance Internal Corporate Comms Account Manager Temporary

Location: London – Hybrid

We are looking for a Freelance Corporate Internal Comms Account Manager. Our client creates award-winning creative communication programmes for clients including Nissan, GSK. Starbucks, Mars and Microsoft.

The Team 

This opportunity sits within their leading Corporate Reputation team in London. They create commercial values by delivering campaigns and advisory work for companies and brands that operate in the full glare of the public spotlight and whose reputations shape their businesses.

They advise on integrated media strategy, digital and content production, crisis planning & response, litigation & legal affairs, employee engagement & advocacy, research & analytics, capital markets and government affairs.

The team includes more than 75 consultants specialising in all areas of corporate reputation and includes former journalists, senior in-house practitioners, government advisors and industry specialists as well as dedicated sector experts.

They take pride in delivering exceptional work for their clients but, at their core, they are a non-hierarchical team who like to spend time together.

The role:

• As an Account Manager you will be based in the Employee Experience practice, you’ll be part of a close-knit, collaborative team who support the continuing growth of their Employee Experience specialism
• Managing and supporting employee engagement & change projects for large, global and national brands
• Creating and articulating consistent change stories with creative flair to ensure employees understand, support and feel proud to share with others
• Designing and executing projects to include change transformations, employer branding, Employee Value Propositions, digital transformation, culture, purpose, DEI and sustainability
• Developing transformation strategies that help leaders and managers engage their teams with authenticity, credibility and consistency
• Delivering large-scale transaction support often caused by restructuring, mergers, acquisitions or divestitures

Client servicing:

• Understand business fundamentals, corporate strategy, and communication/organisational issues, as well as ability to quickly get up to speed on client-specific industry/business
• Promote a ‘client-first’ approach, working collaboratively across the business including Creative, Digital, Editorial and Planning
• Serve as daily client contact and act as client lead, when appropriate
• Develop and execute creative solutions and recommendations for client-business challenges
• Assist with sales activities including developing proposals and pitches and presenting these to clients

Organisation and account management:

• Support senior colleagues in the delivery and management of consulting assignments
• Manage multiple client accounts and projects simultaneously
• Deliver high quality work to tight deadlines, including research, strategic recommendations, written and numerical documents
• Mentor, motivate, and coach junior team members, consistently providing feedback, holding them accountable

Key requirements:

• Proven track record in public relations and/or related fields, including corporate communications, employee engagement, internal communications or management consulting
• Superior writing, editing and presentation-development skills
• Familiarity and experience with all aspects of employee engagement programming including appropriate use of communication channels and media, particularly digital media
• Highly adaptable and able to work across several clients and projects, managing them all confidently and with a high level of competence
• Experience of managing clients – either at an agency or in-house as a communications/engagement business partner
• Excellent planning, organisational and programme management skills, particularly relating to the development and ongoing management of employee engagement programmes
• Passion for client service and teamwork
